Aluminium (Al) is chemical element 13, in period 3, group 13.

Aluminium production links bauxite processing to alumina and then to the metal. The Bayer and Hall–Héroult processes act at different stages. Aluminium oxide and aluminium metal have different bonding and properties despite containing the same element.
