Nickel (Ni) is chemical element 28, in period 4, group 10.

Nickel is used in corrosion-resistant alloys and protective coatings. Finely divided nickel can catalyse hydrogenation of vegetable oils, connecting the metal to addition chemistry at carbon–carbon double bonds.
